Introduction

The University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir is a premier public-sector institution established in 1980, recognised for its multidisciplinary teaching and research across a network of campuses.

The University comprises its Main Campus in Muzaffarabad, alongside campuses in Neelum Valley (Athmuqam) and Jhelum Valley (Hattian Bala), each contributing to its academic breadth and regional outreach.

UAJK offers a diverse portfolio of programmes through its major faculties:

  • Faculty of Science & Technology: Offers undergraduate programmes in Computer Science & IT, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Applied Geology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics (with Data Science), and Zoology. Advanced research degrees (MS/M.Phil. and PhD) are available across most disciplines.
  • Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences: Provides programmes in English, Law, Islamic Studies, International Relations, Economics, Psychology, Mass Communication, Sociology, Urdu, Islamic Banking & Economics, Education, and Art & Design. Postgraduate research opportunities include MS/M.Phil. and PhD programmes, including specialised areas such as Kashmir Studies.
  • Faculty of Engineering & Technology: Offers accredited programmes in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Technology, and Computer Engineering Technology. Selected postgraduate programmes support advanced technical research and innovation.
  • Faculty of Health & Allied Health Sciences: Delivers programmes in Public Health, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Radiology, Anaesthesia Technology, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Nursing, and Sports & Physical Education. Advanced degrees are available in relevant disciplines.

The Neelum and Jhelum Valley campuses currently offer undergraduate programmes in English and Computer Science.
