It gives me great satisfaction and pride, as Chancellor, to witness the remarkable progress achieved by the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir over the past four decades. As a premier institution of higher education in the region, UAJK has consistently delivered quality education and produced impactful research across a wide range of disciplines.
Since its establishment in 1980, the University has evolved into one of the largest and most respected educational institutions in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Through its sustained commitment to academic excellence and research innovation, it has firmly positioned itself among the leading universities in the region.
I am particularly pleased to note the University’s continued emphasis on transparency, good governance, and academic quality, supported by the induction of highly qualified and competent faculty. The University’s success in facilitating a significant number of scholars for PhD studies under the Turkish Scholarship Programme, along with its expanding collaborations with national and international institutions, reflects its forward-looking vision.
These efforts have earned the University notable national recognition, including a high ranking in quality assurance among universities in Pakistan and a leading position within AJ&K. It is equally encouraging to observe the University’s commitment to inclusivity, as reflected in the increased enrolment of female students across its academic programmes.
The timely completion of the state-of-the-art King Abdullah Campus at Chattar Klass stands as a major milestone. With the relocation of multiple academic departments and administrative units, the campus provides modern facilities, improved accommodation, and advanced laboratories, significantly enhancing the overall learning and research environment.
I am confident that the University will continue to build upon its achievements and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of education, research, and society.
