UAJK Commemorates Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos Anniversary with National Fervour
The University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (UAJK) commemorated the anniversary of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos (Marka-e-Haq) with a solemn yet spirited ceremony, bringing together eminent scholars, dignitaries, faculty members, and students to pay tribute to the martyrs and acknowledge the valour of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
The ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nasir Jamal Khattak, Justice (R) Chaudhary Ibrahim Zia, former Chief Justice of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Dr. Talhat Shabbir, Director Pak-China Institute Islamabad, Dr. Rehana Kausar, Director Student Affairs UAJK, Samia Sajid, Chairperson Kashmir Women Alert Forum AJK, and Advocate Pervaiz Shah, General Secretary All Parties Hurriyat Conference, among others.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted themes of national sovereignty, unity, resilience, and the enduring spirit of the Pakistani nation. Paying rich tribute to the martyrs, they emphasized that their sacrifices continue to serve as a guiding force for the country. The bravery, professionalism, and operational excellence of the Pakistan Air Force and ground troops were widely lauded for their role in defending the nation and effectively repelling hostile aggression.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of harmony, discipline, and mutual understanding in society. He stressed that strength lies in unity and in focusing on shared values rather than differences. He further stated that Pakistan is a strong nation capable of defending its frontiers with determination and resolve.
Justice (R) Chaudhary Ibrahim Zia reflected on Pakistan’s historical journey, highlighting the significance of the Two-Nation Theory and the unwavering commitment of the nation’s martyrs. He observed that while nations possess both strengths and weaknesses, unity and determination remain key to progress.
Dr. Talhat Shabbir discussed the interplay of power and sovereignty, stressing that sustainable strategic strength is rooted in economic stability and resilience during challenging times. He emphasized that the pursuit of lasting peace and justice, particularly in the context of Kashmir, remains paramount.
Samia Sajid highlighted the vital role of youth in nation-building, calling for unity and collective responsibility. She noted that Pakistan has consistently advocated peace while maintaining a strong commitment to national security.
Advocate Pervaiz Shah condemned the loss of innocent lives in conflicts and described Pakistan’s response to external aggression as measured and justified. He stressed the importance of restraint, sovereignty, and strengthening the confidence of the younger generation.
The ceremony also featured patriotic performances by students, who presented national songs, adding a vibrant and emotional dimension to the event. The participants expressed deep pride in the nation’s resilience and unity in the face of challenges.
Later, a rally was taken out by students and faculty members to celebrate the occasion, demonstrating solidarity with the armed forces and reaffirming their commitment to national integrity and peace.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the values of unity, resilience, and collective responsibility for a stronger and more secure Pakistan.
