Dr. Wajid Aziz Loun is currently serving as a Professor of Computer Science at the University of AJK. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, research, and academic administration, he has made significant contributions to the academic landscape. He also served at the University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for more than five years.
Dr. Wajid holds a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Sciences from the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Leicester, UK. Throughout his career, he has held several key academic and administrative positions, including Chairman of the Department of Computer Science & IT, In-charge of the City Campus, Director of Financial Aid, Director of Youth Engagement, Controller of Examinations, and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor for Software Research and Development.
He serves as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) focal person for Anti-Plagiarism Services, the Prime Minister’s Youth Development Program, and the Prime Minister’s Green Youth Movement Club. Additionally, he is a Master Trainer with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) for training modules capacity building for PhD supervisors, technology integration in higher education teaching, and Academic planning and implementing for University teachers. He is actively engaged with national and international accreditation bodies, including NCEAC Pakistan, NCAAA, and ABET.
His leadership philosophy is rooted in transparency, collaboration, and strategic foresight. He is deeply committed to promoting a university culture that excels in research impact, societal relevance, and global engagement.
