UAJK Signs MoU with SPS, USA for Establishment of SPS–SpinnLabs Innovation & Internship Center.

The University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (UAJK), Muzaffarabad, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Software Productivity Strategists, Inc. (SPS), USA on April 23, 2026, marking an important step towards strengthening academia–industry collaboration and promoting innovation-driven learning.

On behalf of UAJK, the MoU was signed by Director ORIC UAJK Dr Muhammad Naeem Ahmed while Vice Chancellor Prof. Nasir Jamal Khattak was also present on the occasion

Under this collaboration, the SPS–SpinnLabs Innovation & Internship Center will be established at UAJK, with collaborative linkages extending to the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad.

The initiative aims to provide students with practical industry exposure in emerging fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Digital Transformation. The collaboration will also facilitate structured internship opportunities, mentorship for Final Year Projects (FYPs), professional certification pathways, and enhanced opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad of Software Productivity Strategists, Inc. (SPS) highlighted that UAJK is the first institution to undertake this pioneering initiative in collaboration with SPS–SpinnLabs. He also briefed participants on the roles of partner companies involved in the establishment and operations of the Innovation Center.

The initiative reflects UAJK’s continued commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements while equipping students with future-oriented professional skills.
