The Department of Sports Science and Physical Education was established in October 2022 at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad. The Department of Sports Science and Physical Education is committed to offering BS (Hons) programs to equip future sports scholars and coaches with the skills needed to address modern sports challenges. Our programs emphasize scientific academic preparation combined with on-field experience and advanced coaching techniques. We provide an environment where faculty members encourage students to engage in applied research in areas such as Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition, Sports Biomechanics, Scientific Coaching, Sports Administration & Management, and Marketing Research in Sports.

The curriculum and pedagogy of the program emphasize the enhancement of professional abilities and leadership skills among students. We believe that our mission has a significant positive impact on sports organizations and society. The department aims to create a strong foundation for quality education through experienced faculty members who guide students in both academic and extracurricular activities. The eligibility criteria for BS Sports Science and Physical Education is F.A./F.Sc./ICS/I.Com or equivalent qualification with at least 2nd Division (45% marks). Preference will be given to sportsmen.
